Organizations K, Veterans, Organization Participating in the Veterans, Day ceremony and donating money to the Christmas Tree Fund were two of the Veterans' major projects this year. They participated in the Carni- val of the Great Pumpkin with their very popular Egg Castle. The Veterans honored Yolanda Solis as their sweetheart and she was later named Bronco Queen. Scholarships for several deserv- ing students of the Valley were awarded by the Veterans' Organization. WIS'

Organizations A Alpha chi The organization is a co-educational society whose purpose is to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students. It honors those students who have earned academic, leadership and service distinction. An honor society as opposed to a recognition soci- ety, Alpha Chi predicates its membership upon accomplishment rather than mere interest or partic- ipation. Dr. Octavio Garza was the guest speaker at the Alpha Chi Convocation. HOPE Founded on unity and strength- nl ened by service and friendship, HCPE promotes the develop- ment of leadership qualities ben- lg l eficial to. the school and to the 5? community. ' ' .3-uit.
