ASSAULT AND FLATTERY The 36th anniversary of Assault and Flattery, Townes Hall's annual musical comedy revue, was celebrated with a production of Legal Shop of Horrors.” The plot of the show traced the lives of law students Seymour and Audrey as they confronted the socratically-sadistic Professor Orin Scrivello, LL.M., and a living, breathing, Mersky-eating 8-foot tall hornbook — Wright on Everything. No icon of pop culture was safe as the show lampooned everything from talk shows ( Professor Donahue”) to the Sweeny sisters ( Tom Clark Lounge”) to the questionable attempt of Lts Miserables to bring great literary works to the Broadway stage ( Crime and Pun- ishment — the Musical ). Professor involvement also soared this year, with students in Law Connection choosing their courses from videotaped descriptions by Professors Dzienkowski, Dodge, Robertson and Johanson. And maybe, someday, Lino Graglia will be able to forgive the Academy for overlooking his brilliant recreations of Marlon Brando’s famous roles in The Godfather, On the Waterfront and Streetcar. A F apparently found its expansion from three to four nights a comfortable one, as did its audiences, which filled the auditorium every evening with laughter, applause and appreciation for a job well done. 18 — Assault and Flattery
