Law school is law school is law school. There's the studying, the reading, the classes, the outlines. All of those things are about the same for everyone. But the extracurricular activities are the paint that makes each law' student’s picture different, colorful and even unique. From the law review to mock trial, from clinics to dances, each event carves its niche in the “law school experience,” engraving special memories, faces and places in the minds of its participants. Mock Trial Moot Court Bruce ScrafFord and Neel Lane plot strategy for their mock trial round. Advocacy contests give students edge Competitors in law school mock trial and moot court rounds gain a definite edge in the litigation arena. The competitions give students an opportunity to plan strategy, to leam rules of evidence and courtroom protocol, and to get criticism from local practitioners. Students serve as counsel to hypothetical plaintiffs and defendants and have a chance to argue both sides of the problem before an attorney ‘'judge. Other law students participate as witnesses, bailiffsarid jurors. The advocacy tournaments are administered by the Board of Advocates, and winners receive trophies or plaques. Tom Moore and Lori Swann make last-minute notes before their round.
