For more than 30 years. The Hildebrand Competition has offered law students a chance to polish their silver tongues and sharpen skills in appellate advocacy. As the oldest intrascholastic competition at the Law School, the moot court activity was named in honor of former Law School Dean Ira P. Hildebrand. While 64 two-person teams entered the Fall Competition, only the top three teams in each bracket advanced to the Spring Competition. Substantive areas of the competition included commercial, constitutional, criminal and tort law. Hildebrand Competition Hildebrand — 21

Locke Mock Trials The prison guard was convicted before the video cameras of conspiring to knowingly and willfully cause the escape of the prisoner. The audience applauded the verdict as Robert Golden and Brent Baldwin for the prosecution were declared the victors of Locke, Purnell, Boren, Laney and Neely Mock Trial Competition. The team and defense attorneys John Dietz and Brian Mul-doon, advanced to the Regional Competition at Baylor. Dietz and Muldoon continued to the Nationals in Houston after again placing second in Waco. Unlike the Kemp Smith Trial Competition which is judged by various law students and which emphasizes a flexibility of scheduling trial dates and times, Locke Mock is a more structured competition with practicing attorneys as judges. 20 — Locke Mock Trial
