RUSSELL WEINTRAUB Professor Of Law Mr. Weintraub received his B.A. degree from New York University in 1950 and his LL.B. degree from Harvard Law School in 1953. He was a Teaching Fellow at Harvard from 1955 to 1957 and a Professor of Law at the University of Iowa from 1957 to 1965. In 1965 he was a Visiting Professor of Law at the University of Michigan. In addition to a number of published articles, Mr. Weintraub is the co-author of The Iowa Law of Workmen’s Compensation and of the annual supplements in i960 and 1961 to Moore’s Federal Practice. Mr. Weintraub teaches Conflicts and Contracts. HARRY K. WRIGHT Associate Professor Of Law Mr. Wright received his B.S. degree from Georgetown University, School of Foreign Service, in 1949. He then attended the University of Texas School of Law and received his LL.B., with honors, in 1952. Mr. Wright was Editor in Chief of the Texas Law Review. Beginning in 1952 as a Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps of the United States Army, Mr. Wright was released from active duty in 1954. From then until 1962, Mr. Wright was in private practice in Houston and Mexico City, D.F. Mr. Wright teaches Agency, Civil Law, Conflict of Laws and a seminar in International Transactions. ERNEST E. SMITH Associate Professor Of Law Mr. Smith took his B.A. degree at Southern Methodist University in 1958, and his LL.B. from Harvard University in 1962. During 1962 and 1963, Mr. Smith served as clerk to Judge Wisdom of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. He joined the Texas faculty in the Fall of 1963. Mr. Smith lectures in Property, Agency, Trusts and Marital Rights. Mr. Smith is the recipient of the 1966 Teaching Excellence Award. 22

LEON LEBOWITZ Professor Of Law Mr. Lebowitz received his A.B. from Baylor University in 1940. his LL.B. in 1943 (Baylor), and his LL.M. from New York University in 1952. From 1946 to 1948, he was an Assistant Professor and Law Librarian at Baylor University Law School. Mr. Lebowitz joined the University of Texas Law Faculty in 1955 as a Visiting Professor of Law and rose to Professor of Law in 1957. He teaches Introduction to Legal Processes, Business Associations, Partnership. Fiduciary Administration and Seminar on Law and Fthics. WOODFIN L. BUTTE Professor Of Law Mr. Butte received his B.A. degree from the University of Texas in 1927. and his LL.B. from Yale University in 1931. In addition, Mr. Butte holds a Dr. of Political Sciences from the University of Central Venezuela. Mr. Butte has practiced law in numerous Latin American countries, and is a member of the American Society of International Law. His courses at the University arc Conflicts and Civil Law. FRANK W. ELLIOTT, JR. Professor Of Law Mr. Elliot received his B.A. degree in 1951, and his LL.B. in 1957. both from the University of Texas. Subsequent to graduation Mr. Elliot worked in the Attorney General’s office, and later clerked for the Supreme Court of Texas. He teaches Introduction, Procedure II and III, and Remedies. Mr. Elliot co-authored the casebook, Texas Trial and Appellate Procedure, with Messrs. Gus Hodges and Albert Jones. 21

FRED COHEN Associate Professor Of Law Mr. Cohen holds B.S. and LL.B. degrees from Temple University. He received his LL.M. in 1961, from Yale University. He was an Assistant Professor of Law at Denver University from 1961 to 1963, and became a permanent member of the Texas faculty in 1963. Mr. Cohen lectures in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminal Correction. Mr. Cohen has been named the faculty consultant to The Southwest Center for Law and the Behavioral Sciences. STANLEY M. JOHANSON Associate Professor Of Law Mr. Johanson received his B.S. at Yale University in 1955. He took his LL.B. from the University’ of Washington in 1958, and was then admitted to the Washington Bar. Mr. Johanson served as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard University from 1961 to 1963, and received his LL.M. from Harvard in 1963. He joined the University' of Texas Law Faculty in 1963 as an Associate Professor. Mr. Johanson teaches Property-, Wills and Estates and Government Contract Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Federal and Washington Bars. ROBERT W. HAMILTON Associate Professor Of Law Mr. Hamilton received his B.A. degree from Swarthmore College in 1952, and in 1955 obtained a J.D. from the University of Chicago School of Law. He served as Law Clerk to Justice Clark of the United States Supreme Court from 1955-56. Mr. Hamilton was admitted to the District of Columbia Bar in 1956. He left private practice in Washington, D.C., to join the Texas Law Faculty in 1964. Mr. Hamilton lectures in Contracts, Creditor’s Rights and Business Associations. 23
