WILLIAM O. HUIE Professor of Law After being admitted to the Texas Bar in 1935, Mr. Huie practiced in Austin until 1936, when he became Assistant Professor of Law at The University of Texas. He rose to Associate Professor of Law in 1939 and has been a Professor of Law since 1946. He was Assistant Dean at The University of Texas School of Law, 1946-1948. In 1939-1940 he was a Research Fellow, Harvard Law School. He served in the Office of Price Administration as Senior Attorney, 1942-1943, and in the United States Nav , 1943-1946. From 1942 to 1946 he was a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In 1946 he was ad- mitted to practice in California and became an Instructor in Law at the University of Iowa. In 1941, and again in 1947, he was a Sterling Fellow at Yale University Law School. He joined The University of Texas faculty in 1947 as Assistant Pro- fessor of Law, rose to Associate Professor of Law in 1949, and has been Professor of Law since 1954. He has been an active member of the several Water Law Con- ferences sponsored by The University of Texas School of Law. During the 1958 spring semester he was on leave teaching at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. He was Associate in Medical-Legal Research, Harvard Law School and Medical School, 1941-1945, Professor of Legal Medicine, University of Illinois, 1945-1949, Pro- fessor of Legal Medicine and University Research Professor of Law and Medicine, Tulane University, 1949-1952, Professor of Law and Legal Medicine, and Director of Law-Science Institute, University of Texas, since 1952. He has been editor and contributing author in national symposia on Scientific Proof and Relations of Law and Medicine and Legal Responsibility of Medical Malpractice. He has been a member of the Legal Advisory Committee, National Society for Medical Research, Officer in Charge, Legal Medicine Branch, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, United States Navy, World War II, Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry, V. He spent 1942-1945 with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, D. C., and was a Lieutenant, judge Advocate General's Corps, United States Army Reserve, on reserve duty 1948-1953. He was a Director on the Tom Green County Bar Association Board, 1956, and member of the International Association of Insurance Counsel. He came to The University of Texas in the fall of 1957 as Professor of Law. Professor of Law Mr. Wilkinson was an accountant until he became an Agent for the Bureau of Internal Revenue in 1937. His service in the United States Navy began as a Lieu- tenant Cjgl in 1942 and ended as a Lieutenant Commander when, late in 1945, he returned to the Bureau of Internal Revenue for two more years as an Agent. He was Assistant Professor of Law at The University of Texas in the summer of 1950, then practiced in Midland until he rejoined the Law faculty in 1957 as Professor of Law. A member of the Permanent Tax Council, he lectured in 1954, 1955 and 1957 at the Tax Conferences sponsored annually by the School of Law.
