1 1 r l .YH LEON GREEN CHARLES TILFORD MCCORMICK Distinguished Professor of Law Distinguished Professor of Law Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Green began his legal career as Instructor in Law at The University of Texas, 1915-1916, Adjunct Professor of Law, 1916-1918, and Professor of Law, 1920-1926. Mr. Green was also in private practice, specializing in Appellate Practice in Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth, 1920-1926. In 1926 he became Dean Con leavej of the University of North Carolina School of Law, Visiting Professor, Yale University School of Law, 1926, Associate Professor, 1927, Professor, 1928, Pro- fessor of Law and Dean of the.Northwestern University Law School, 1929-1947, at which time he returned to The University of Texas as Professor of Law. A pioneering thinker, Mr. Green is well known for his Rationale of Proximate Cause, his text of Judge and Jury, and for his casebooks, Cases on Injuries to Relations and The Iudicial Process in Tort Cases. He was Professor of Law, University of North Carolina, 1926-1931, Dean, 1927-1931, Professor of Law, Northwestern University, 1921-1940 and in 1951. He was Dean and Professor of Law, University of Texas, 1940-1949, and has been professor Law since 1949. A respected authority on Evidence, Damages, and Federal Procedure, he is author of McCormick on Damages, McCormick on Evidence, and Cases on Evidence, and co-author of McCormick and Ray, Texas Law of Evidence, McCormick and Chadbourn, Cases on Federal Courts, and McCormick and Fritz, Cases on Damages. Mr. McCormick has taught at Cornell, Yale, Chicago, Stanford, University of Washington, Columbia, and Harvard. Pa Q e Keeto n Deen of the School of Law Professor of Law Upon graduating from The University of Texas School of Law, Dean Keeton joined his alma mater as Assistant Professor of Law in 1932. He became Associate Professor of Law in 1936, and Professor of Law in 1939. He was Assistant Dean of the School of Law in 1940-1942, and has been Dean since 1949. Dean Keeton was on leave of absence 1942-1945, when he served successively in the OHice of Price Administration as Chief Counsel of the Petroleum Branch, Division Counsel fFuel Divisionl, and Price Executive of the Petroleum Branch, and as Assistant Chief Counsel of Petroleum Administration for War, Washington, D. C. From 1946 to 1949 he was Dean of the University of Oklahoma Law School. He was on leave of absence at the University of California during the spring semester of 1958. He is editor of Cases on Fraud and Mistake and co-editor of Seavey, Keeton and Thurston, Cases on Torts. Dean Keeton's tenure as Dean has resulted in superior facilities for the training of qualified attorneys through his efforts in securing the new Law Building, highly qualified professors, and a more adequate legal library. His personality, past accom- plishments and future plans have earned for him the respect and affection he , .jgw receives. GIBSON, III ASSISTANT DEAN OF THE scHooL OF LAW Assistant Professor of Law Mr. Gibson became a member of The University of Texas School of Law faculty in 1949 as an Instructor in Law. He was Texas State Librarian 1952-1954, and returned to the School of Law as Assistant Professor and Associate Law Librarian until 1956 when he became Assistant Dean. ROBERT WELDON STAYTON GEORGE WILFRED STUMBERC Distinguished Professor of Law Distinguished Professor of Law Mr. Stayton entered the legal profession in San Antonio in 1908, practicing there and later in Corpus Christi until 1923. He has been Professor of Law at The University of Texas since 1925. He was a member of the Board of Legal Examiners, 1921-1923, judge, Commission of Appeals, 1923-1925, President, Texas Bar Association, 1924-1925, Texas Civil Judicial Council, 1930-1946, Texas Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules of Procedure, since 1940, Committee on Interpretation of Rules, 1942-1944g Managing Secretary of Texas Law Review since 1926. His continuous analytical studies have pro- duced unsurpassed clarification of the methods by which law is administered in Texas. Among the major research projects conducted by Mr. Stayton are: Functional Indications of Reported Opinions ibegun 19311, Pendency of Texas Civil Litigation 1 begun 19381, Court Reorganization fbegun 19481, The Plastic Code Cbegun 19511, and Decisions and Judicial Legislation 1 begun 19511. Author of Method of Practice, 1935, and Casebooks on Texas Procedure, 1952, he has written Texas Form Books since 1915. Subjects: Judicial Administration, Legal Method Born 1886 B.A, University of Texas, 1907 LL.B., University of Texas, 1927 Mr. Stumberg practiced law in Missouri, 1912-1913, and began his teaching career at Louisiana State University Law School, 1919-1925, as Associate Professor and Professor of Law. Since 1925 he has been Professor of Law at The University of Texas. He served with the Board of Economic Warfare as Assistant Counsel in 1942 and, in 1943, as their Special Representative in French West Africa. He then became Adviser on French Economic Affairs in the Foreign Economic Administration through October, 1944. Long recognized as a leading expertin two iields-Criminal Law and Conflict of Laws-Mr. Stumberg is also known for his recent work in Admiralty Law.
