1955 PORTIA MISS JO ANN STARKEY Jo Ann wag selected hy h«r fellow students as their Portia for 1955—a high honor and a great thrill for this lovely first-year student from San Antonio, the daughter of Colonel and Mrs J. W. Starkey of that city. Bom on Chri-tmai 1934 in Fort Jay, New York, Jo Ann is determined to be a Southerner despite her Northern hirth—particularly «inc both her parents are from the South and since die hai spent most of her life in San Antonio. She U twmty-yeare old. ba' brown hair, and i' five feet, five inches tall. As Portia, Jo Ann rode in the Round-Up Parade, accom panied by Associate Justice Griffin of the Texas Supreme Court and Dean Page Keeton, and escorted by the Chancellor of the Law School. She was also presented at the Round-Up Revue as Portia of the Law School and as a Cactu Bluebonnet Bell nominee. PAGF. 10
