PENN YWEIGH TS Pennyweights, the dental wives organization at the University of Texas Dental School, is open to all stu- dent's wives who are interested in learning more about their husband's career and in enioying the friendship and companionship of other wives. This past year's activities included weekly classes during the spring in which dentists lectured on various aspects of dentistry. ln addition, there was an Appetizer Dinner, a Wine Tasting Party, a Plant Show, a Garage Sale, a Fashion Show, and a Spring Luncheon. The first edition ofthe paper was published in mid- March, as an EXTRA!, and since then has had issues printed in April and May, with another expected this summer around July. Thus far, the paper has been termed a success, and editor Bruce Smith claims some surprise changes for next year that should make it even more so. Other students than those mentioned above who have helped to make the paper a success are Ann Sue VonGonten, Ronnie Horne, David Adame, Bryan Gulley, Mike Hill, and Andy Pickens. ?'m..QI ffl.

First organized in l976 to reco nize extr d' h' g aor mary ac uevement, El Gato Dental Society bases its membership on the ability to tell mendacious stories and a feel for weak b.s. Members live by those two famous sayings, Things are not always as they appear to be and What they don't know, won't hurt you. To date, all members plan to retire after graduation. This year the society attended the 52nd annual magicians workshop in Miami, Florida, where they demonstrated the latest in Gatto Technique. Many applicants are disillusioned at being rejected for membership in the society, failing to realize that this is a totally antisocial organization. The dean h as turned down our application for a Department of Gattoism but we will never give up trying.
