; I 4 I o II it FOR0A ORD The Eyes of Texas are upon you ... so many times have we students stood when we heard the familiar introductory blasts of the trumpets of the Longhorn Band. This is one of many traditions of The University of Texas that brings the impact of the spirit of the Orange and White. Various factors have brought many in- dividuals together on the Forty Acres to build our intellectual community. Yet there is one thing that all twenty thousand students have in common. We are part of an institution of higher learning and are sharing experiences which will en- rich the pathway that lies ahead. To the beginning freshman and to the graduat- ing senior, both the good and bad times of 1961-1962 will bring memories linger- ing many years hence. The cry I ' m through! is the outlet after finals, and then follows See you in September! But for the ones who won ' t be back in the fall comes the realization that maybe the University isn ' t such a bad place after all ... registration, classes, quizzes, and finals. This is The University of Texas.
