STUDENT ASSOCIATION WALES MADDEN President The function of the Student Association is to provide a medium of expression for the opinions of the student body. The president serves as the presiding officer of the Student Assembly, as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Texas Union, and as a member of the Board of Directors of Texas Student Publications. In addition to succeeding to the presidency in case of emergency, the vice- president acts as chairman of all financial and appropriations committees of the Association and as chairman of the Social Calendar Committee. It is the secretary who compiles the yearbook of the Association and who performs numerous other duties of a secretarial nature. Wales Madden resigned in February and Wilson Foreman took over the duties of president. Cesare J. Galli was elected as the vice-president by the Assembly. STUDENT ASSEMBLY The Student Assembly is the legislative branch of the Student Association. The Assembly appoints committees to do research in many of the student activities.
