EX-STUDENTS ' ASSOCIATION BYRON SKELTON President PAUL TRACY, JOHN A. McCURDY, Executive Secretary The Ex-Students ' Association is dedicated to a program of service to the University and to maintaining the ties that bind ex-students to each other and to the University. As a basis for its work it maintains files of all former students. These records cover the entire life span of ex-students and graduates and are used by all departments of the University, as well as by ex-students and student organizations. The character of its program activities make the Association an important public relations unit of the University. The Alcalde, University of Texas alumni magazine, is published monthly during the long session and constitutes an important medium of information. Texas-Ex Clubs are sponsored in all major towns and cities in the state and over the nation. The March Second tradition is an outgrowth of Association activity. The Annual Round-Up was started by the Association in 1930 as an occasion to bring exes, dads and mothers, and friends of the University back to the campus. It also furnishes a fine opportunity for cooperative effort between faculty, students and ex-students. The Association continues to assist in securing gifts, both large and small, for the University. This activity has resulted in the establishment of a number of loan and scholarship funds and a program of Annual Giving through which each ex is encouraged to make some gift to the University each year. ) ' into ALBERT PERLEY BROGAN Dean, Graduate School In copping with a broken leg, Dean Brogan soon learned to just take life easy with a good book. Since he ' s now up and around the prescription must have paid off. HENRY M. BURLAGE Dean, College of Pharmacy Uh, oh! Dean Burlage will shoot us for picturing his prize Welsh corgi with her ears down. The Dean ' s show dogs provide an interesting hobby for him as well as being wonderful pets. E. WILLIAM DOTY Dean, College of Fine Arts Ruth, Bill, Martha, and wife Elinor gather round for a bit of good old-fashioned fun and harmony. And who wouldn ' t expect excellent singing from such a talented group! ROBERT R. DOUGLASS Director, Graduate School of Library Science Mr. Douglass is at the helm of one of the only schools of Library Science in the nation. Here the camera catches him in a not-so-busy moment at home. PAUL J. THOMPSON Director, School of Journalism Looks as though Mr. Thompson has just finished giving the new Journalism building a quick once- over. Just think, if those transformers had come in, we could have all moved in March. PAGE KEETON Dean, School of Law I rfl) ' t.ai W in) ' apt Well, when you ' ve got one of the greatest legal minds, it ' s probably OK to exercise with a power-mower. Anyway, the pose was good enough to get that genial Keeton grin. PACE 19
