WILLIAM D. BLUNK Assistant to the Dean of Student Life The camera catches Dean Blank as he proudly records the progress of talented sons David and Dan. In addition to his day-unto-night job of governing extra curricular activities, he has re- cently won a citation for the most number of hours spent judging beauty contests. How about that, Mrs. Blunk? CARL V. BREDT Associate Dean of Student Life Another of the most popular officials, Carl ' s pa- tience in handling difficult student-housemother problems has paid off much good-will. He ' s mighty proud of Pat and Tex, who really deserve the credit for Carl ' s fine reputation as a hunter. He also referees many of the local basketball and baseball games for Austin High. : MARGARET PECK Assistant Dean of Women One of the indispensable assistants in the dean ' s office is Miss Peck. The camera apologizes for its poor ability to capture her wonderful personality which has made her a favorite, particularly with the Panhellenic Council. PEARL B. WALKER Assistant to the Dean of Women And here ' s our faithful Social Calendar OKer, taking a moment off from preparing the busy schedules of UT partygoers. Miss Walker really pitched into the big job this year since Miss Allison left the 40 Acres. JESSE EARL ANDERSON Assistant to the Dean of Women Likeable Miss Anderson pulls a McCarthy on us while stopping long enough to pose. The CAC- TUS is especially indebted for the time and work spent in helping to select the Outstanding Stu- dents and Bluebonnet Belles this year. Thanks a lot, Miss Anderson. 7 PACE 16

We ' ll bet the whole family was glad to see a typical pose not at the safe door right? tow ) 1 ARNO NOWOTNY Dean of Student Life Dean Shorty ' s dynamic interest in student affairs and tales of his days as UT ' s head cheerleader have kept him one of the perennial campus fa- vorites. The big grin is to fool you into thinking he ' s a successful deerslayer. DOROTHY GEBAUER Dean of Women The real southern lady, Miss Gebauer, remains uppermost in the hearts of UT coeds. Texy the cat thinks all this bail throwing for the camera is a lot of nonsense. And Butch admits it ' s lots of extra work. JACK HOLLAND Dean of Men Dean Jack sets out to prove to young ' uns Barbara, Darwin, and Jeffrey that the old story about the only way a turtle makes progress is with his neck out is true. And in his job, Jack wonders where all this fits in between the Greeks and Independents. CHARLES T. CLARK Director, Office of Non-Academic Personnel Another of the young and favorite administrative officials is Chuck Clark, here pictured trying to tame Buzz for the camera . . . looks as though Buzz and not-pictured daughter, Mary, would be enough besides all the professional work which Chuck handles everyday.
