STUDENTS ' ASSOCIATION President HAROLD BAREFOOT SANDERS The President of the STUDENTS ' ASSOCIATION serves as the presiding officer of the Students ' Assembly, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Texas Union and the Board of Directors of Texas Student Publications. In addition to succeeding to the presidency in cases of emergency or resignation, the Vice-President acts as chairman of all finance and appropriation committees of the Association and as Chairman of the Social Calendar Committee. Following Vice- President Elliott ' s graduation in February, W. Paul Strassman. Arts and Sciences assemblyman, was elected Vice-President. In addition to the legislatives duties of the Assembly, committees are formed to do research in many phases of the activities of the students. The three most active committees appointed by the Assembly this past year were the Council on Fair Business, Grievance Committee, and the International Council. These committees made recommendations for improvements. The Assembly also appointed a committee to prepare a new constitution. Jim Coats was appointed Chairman of the Constitutional Committee.
