BRAIM.KY BOl ' KI.AM) April proved to be a very active month in student government, for Fred Chandler resigned as Vice-Presi- dent of the Students ' Association, and a week later Bradley Bourland submitted his resignation from the presidency. By a vote of the Student Assembly, John Fry replaced Chandler as Vice-President. Following Bourland ' s resig- nation, Fry became President of the Association. The President serves as the presiding officer of the Student Assembly, as Chairman of the Board of Direc- tors of the Texas Union, and as a member of the Board of Directors of Texas Student Publications. In addition to succeeding to the presidency in cases of emergency, the Vice-President acts as chairman of all finance and appropriation committees of the Associa- tion and as Chairman of the Social Calendar Committee. LEGG CYNTHIA ROWAN EMMA BETH HUDSON JACK SKAGCS, Chief Justice The Student Court, which is the outgrowth of the old Judiciary Council, is composed of a Chief Justice and four Associate Justices. This Court interprets the constitution. It is also in the power of the Student Court to examine the books of campus organizations, to decide on disputed elections, and to impel the student officials to carry out the duties of their respective offices to the fullest extent. The Chief Justice also appoints the election committee. In short, the Student Court is the students ' guarantee that the constitution will be respected by their elected representatives.
