T AS an unusual year for all of us. With the end of war and the return to peace came a shift back to a normalcy that was anything but normal. Here at the University the upheaval was evidenced by a new maturity and ?eriou ne? among students, most of whom were veterans. Pric - r - - even faster than the new apartment buildings. A change in social life was also apparent, as a swollen enrollment caused lines reminiscent of army life at every meal or movie. After the lean years of the war, co-eds plunged giddily into the whirl of nightly dates made weeks in advance. ' tie of us were unaffected by the change, not even probably the most x-dentary of all plodders, the CACTUS Staff. For this reason, we, the Staff, have tried to fashion for you, in photographs and cartoons, paper and type, a book that will remind you in the future of a time in your lives when most things seemed new and rather strange, when life was, on the whole, pretty good a record of a year the like of which will never come again.
