sneak a joint between classes either. The bloodhounds will sniff you out 100 yards downwind. EATING If you’re trying to lose weight, check the UT cafeteria. At first the rawhide slabs and tractor bearings they try to pass off as roast beef and potato balls might seem almost appetizing — if you've spent the summer at the beach on a strict diet of fiddler crabs and seaweed. But they do get old. Before long, you’ll be down to jello and iced tea. And just watch those pounds roll away. Of course, if you're trying to gain, there are always two all-beef pat- ties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese . . . at your nearby . . . well, you know. FOREIGN STUDENTS Don’t let the foreign students throw you just because most of them speak five languages and have IQ’s of 250. Many of them await a fate worse than death — stuck here every weekend and possibly Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. And because so many dif- ferent countries are represented here (about 20 at last count) by only a hand- ful of students from each country, these poor souls are hard-pressed to find a fellow foreigner who speaks any one of the same five languages. FRATERNITIES If you need comradeship, encour- agement when you get your first F in Dr. Harder’s logic class and plain old down-home grass roots sympathy when your chick drops you for another dude, don't go to your dearest frater- nity brother. He's too busy combing his hair, drinking your beer, borrowing your clothes, and wallowing on your Brut. But you might get even with that macho jock if you'll just have patience.
