 A's are the most cherished treas- ure on campus and just about as hard to come by as aardvark feathers. You can’t buy, beg, borrow, or steal one. The only sure way to get them is to make your own. BICYCLES If you don't live too far off campus, a bike is a pretty good way to go unless, of course, it’s monsoon season. On campus you don’t really need one, but a flashy 10-speed racer might be a way to start a conversation with a chick when you’re too poor to own a ’vette. You don’t have to worry much about getting your bike ripped off. There are racks you can chain it to everywhere. BOOKSTORE The bookstore is a terrific place to buy whatever trivia you might need. They don't make a profit; so everything is disgustingly cheap. They’ve actually got a ballpoint pen that shows up on thermo copies for a nickel. They've got T-shirts with every kind of decal you can think of as long as it has something to do with UT. And they also sell text- books. CAMPUS COPS The unsung gendarmes of the cam- pus are like all the rest — never around when your roommate is being assaulted by a dorm counselor — always there when you’re parked ille- 18
