SiHl ,-rDC f The installation and inaugural address of Dr. Dclo climaxed a two-day program that included a sym posium on “Strengthening Education Through Im- proved Education of Teachers and a second sympo- sium on “The Role of the Independent University.” In an ancient ceremony never before seen in Tampa, a somber black line composed of Faculty, Delegates of Learned Societies, Delegates of Univer- sities and Colleges throughout the nation, Oflicial Guests, and the Board of Trustees, filed to the audi- torium. In the centuries-old tradition, Dr. David M. Delo, who was to take the oath of office, walked last. Convocation speaker was Dr. Charles W.
