Nance is synonymous with the University of Tampa. No one man has contributed so much to the rapid development of our university. Among the steps forward the university has taken during the past year have been the completion of many new classrooms as well as improvements on the older ones. We can’t overlook of course, the in- stallation of an adequate heating system. I)r. Nance has been a part of the University of Tampa for many years. Without his progressive spirit the university never could have achieved its present status of which we may he very proud. 9 —: BOARD OF TRUSTEES DAVID E. SMILEY, Chairman It is through the aid and guidance of the University of Tampa's Board of Trustees that our officials are able to secure the most bene- ficial results for the University. This able-bodied group of men fulfills the function toward the administration that the faculty does for the stu- dents. The University has prospered and ex- panded for many years by the policies the Board of Trustees has formed. We owe our gratitude to the Board for the long awaited recognition that is now Tampa’s. The constant expansion of our school is the result of the Board’s decisions. Its steady growth serves as a tribute to the present hoard and to their very capable predecessors. MEMBERS V. H. The Sigmas’ annual “Cold Diggers’ Ball” held on Friday, October 13 at the Cuban Club, provided the University coeds with an opportunity to invite their favorite beaux to a social function. At Homecoming, the Tri-Sigs helped sponsor the party for the children of the alumni which was the highlight of the day for the youngsters. Nora Vega was sponsored by the Sigmas for Homecoming Queen. The Sigmas made and sold ribbon corsages at Homecoming. At Christmas, the girls brought joy to the children of a Tampa orphanage by entertaining them for an after- noon in the University Ballroom.
