Business Manager —2— FOREWORD A book of this kind is usually regarded as a book of memories —a record of four cherished years that the turning of the volume's pages will bring vividly back. We sincerely hope this book will serve that purpose. But it isn't as easy as it used to be to think of the after years” as a time affording the opportunity and peace of mind for pleasurable reflection. What the future may be for this tortured world of ours brings many disquieting thoughts. Our problems before and during the War seemed more difficult than we could solve; today they are overwhelming. Like the Spartans of old, we must find the courage to save ourselves, or we shall perish. There still is time, but the sands are running out. x o ii 4 3 m W DEDICATION Whereas, The Moroccan Stall of the University of Tampa wishes to show its appreciation of generous services to the University on the part of our true friend; and Whereas, It is fitting that public recognition be accorded these services so unselfishly given; Therefore Be It Resolved, That the 1947 Moroccan be inscribed to this true friend, James W. Whitehead. .---------------------------- A ICiutng Hmnrial ... to perpetuate the brave deeds of our service men and women through a Living Memorial which will advance mankind's goal of lasting peace ... —From Heroin lion adopted by the American Legion Jin Hlemnrtam There is no death! The stars go down To rise upon some other shore And bright in heaven's jeweled crown They shine forevermore. —John Luckey McCrcery NO Foot kill nu tu C ofeK —14— BOARD OF TRUSTEES DAi ID E.
