EX LIBRIS 1Q42 I ' rdnud. VrythCbu e£ 1 4£,., 0£2 (Mja ttx iuA . SdLi vx fcC S Q$of utycM‘ BuAur j.£94 Foreword Today we are going forth in a world torn as- sunder by malivant desires of men who do not know the American Way. We have grown up in a land not built on such principles as world domi- nation, gestapo, and dictatorship. Four years in an institution which is the epitome of the American Way have taught us the real meaning of liberty, the Bill of Rights, a just constitution, and the pursuit of happiness. So today as young men and women we go forth into the world determined to do our part in insuring the American Way for ourselves and our posterity. This annual is a memory of the school who taught us life and how to live in a great democracy like our own — The United States of America. iS'HSg DCATD(0 M... Tall, lean and graceful, the director of our band is every inch a man. A friend to us all, a fine leader and an excellent musi- cian, he has taught us the art of blending together the parts of our lives just as he has taught his orchestra to blend each instru- ment to form the perfect whole. We the staff of the 1942 Moroccan proudly dedicate this annual to Professor Lyman Wiltse. One whose final move- ment is drawing to a close, but whose melody we will remember forever. The University of Tampa— a place where we came to learn; you became life, our life. It was as if our lives was music slumber- ing on its instrument with no voice until we came to you, Tampa. The whole world has been your music and v e could not listen hard enough. Today you have made yourself appear austere and hard, bidding us good-bye with no regrets . . . but we know, we saw you last night holding your cresent moons in the lap of heaven where the stars were your tears. Tonight we shall see you again, perhaps for the last time. Lovely all times you lie, lovelier tonight . . . our campus—Spanish moss in giant oaks and stately pines, dogwood blooms and magnolia blossoms in SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS ....President Vice-President . . .
