RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES Stations of the Cross Religious activities form a major part in the life of the University students. Life is centered about the chapel from which strength is derived in frequent Visits and assistance at daily Mass and the redemption of Our Lord in HolyCommunion. Every Thursday noon during the school year is set aside for the University Sermon, delivered by our own Basilian Fathers. This year's theme for the University Sermons was the Lives of the Saints. Following each sermon is Benediction in the chapel. The Rosary is also said daily in the University Chapel by the students. The Annual Retreat, held during Holy Week, was given by Rev. R. J Ronan, a Passionist Father. The retreat gives the students an opportunity to put aside their studies and spend three days in undisturbed conversation with Our Lord. This year the Blessed Virgin was crowned on the First Friday in May in the Social Science Gardens, as Queen of the May, by one of the socialists. The entire student body attended this function in honor of Mary, reciting her Rosary and singing hymns in her honor. On the eve of each first Saturday, Nocturnal Adoration is held in honor of our Lady of Fatima. The University students take charge of the first three hours. Legion of Mary Display
