METROPOLITAN CLUB The Metropolitan Club, now one of the most ac- tive on campus, was founded with the purpose of broadening the social life of the women students, while enriching their spiritual lives through chari- table projects. The active membership is composed of the women day students from the Houston area, while other women students may be associate mem- bers. The monthly meetings are held in the mem- bers, homes. The activities of the club in the academic year of 1957-1958 consisted mainly of a Fall Fashion Show, the Christmas Silver Tea, 21 Christmas Charity Party for the Spanish children of the Basilian Missions, LEFT TO RIGHT: Pat Landers, President; Dr. Evelene Peters, Faculty and the annual Primavera B311. Included on the reading list for this year were a novel by Theodore Dreiser and several dramas by Henrik Ibsen, August Strindberg, Sean O'Casey, J. M. Synge, Eugene O'Neill, Clifford Odets, and George Bernard Shaw. Many of the meetings were held in homes of friends of the University; however this year we were also fortunate enough to be allowed to meet in the newly acquired Shadwell Hall. V n Wymwzmwym

Family Advixor The Music Club had its origin in the enthusiasm of several students anxious to hear and discuss music of all types. While its membership was small its regular weekly meetings provided an excellent opportunity to compare and contrast classical and contemporary works with a View to critical appreciation 0n the part of the discussion leaders and members of the club. CHORAL CLUB This year the Choral Club met weekly under the direction and accompaniment of Father Monaghan. Although small the group was very energetic and were often heard either working overtime or en- joying a jam session. The club did not accept any public performances but were heard several times in the General As- sembly in brief but widely diversified programs ranging from Negro Spirituals to Bach and the purest of Church Music.
