MEYERS Faculty Adviyor uBLESSED BE GOD, BLESSED BE HIS HOLY NAMEtt The primary objectives of the Holy Name Society are the honor and glory of God and the personal sanctification of its members. In pursuance of these objec- tives the members practice frequent recep- tion of the sacraments, especially the monthly reception of Communion in a body, and veneration of the Holy Name of Jesus. As secondary objectives the members of the society this year participated in the Christ the King celebration, the Houston District Holy Name Union, and the Di- ocesan Council of Catholic Men Conven- tion. The members also furnished servers for the daily masses on campus, and Sun- day masses at the Veterarfs Hospital.

AQUINAS HONOR SOCIETY? To qualify for the Aquinas Honor Society a stu- dent must not only attain a iiB average for the se- mester but must also have participated in extracur- ricular activities. The primary object of the society is to encourage high scholarship and to further the intellectual pursuits of the student. It is for this rea- son that the society sponsors a scholarship Which is given to a deserving student each year. Certificates are given to qualifying students, and a key to those retaining membership for six semesters. These awards are presented at the annual Spring Banquet. e DOCTOR WILLIAM R. It strives to attain this end by means of self sanctification, sanctification of neighbor and the defense of the Church. In order to enlighten and strengthen its- embers the Sodality reviews Catholic periodicals and then discusses them at the eetings. Other projects include the fos- ering 0f the daily rosary, posting the legion of Decency list, and the annual I ay crowning of the Blessed Virgin.
