Simma Every institution has its Hraison d'etre. We, here at the University of St. Thomas become increasingly aware of this as we pass through our collegiate years. More- over, we come to know that each person has his own Hraison dietre. We come to know that, regardless of What others say, there is a meaning to life, that there is a goal to be reached. It is for this reason that the Summa is compiled and published. It is a permanent record of one year's activities at the Uni- versity. It is hoped that in later years when the book is thumbed through, it Will serve as a reminder of the ideals of this Univer- sity. If this is true, then we feel that our efforts have been fruitful.
