FOREWORD WE ARE LEAVING COLLEGE LIFE IN A YEAR WHICH SEEMS TO MARK A UNIVERSAL AWAKENING TO A NEW WORLD OF THE FUTURE. THE TRYLON AND PERISPHERE OF THE NEW YORK WORLD,S FAIR SYMBOLIZE IN MILLIONS OF MINDS, BROAD HORI- ZONS, NEW, FRESH FIELDS OF ENDEAVOR, AND GREAT POSSIBILI- TIES FOR THE ADVANCE OF CIVILIZATION-IN A WORD, THE WORLD OF TO-MORROW. WE, LEAVING ST. JOSEPH COLLEGE, ARE ENTERING THIS NEW WORLD SPECIALLY FORTIFIED TO MEET ITS EXIGENCIES. WE CARRY WITH US THE KNOWLEDGE THAT WE POSSESS THE SOURCE OF ALL TRUTH AND BEAUTY. WE CARRY WITH US THE CONVICTION THAT THE CATHOLIC PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE, SO ZEALOUSLY NOURISHED WITHIN THESE WALLS, WILL BE OUR GREAT WEAPON AGAINST THE FORCES OF EVIL AND MISERY WHICH SURROUND US.
