Organizations and movements for those who wanted people to agree with their views sprang to prominence during the 1969-70 term Qsafety in numbers?j. Nobody could really feel left out. Leftists and rightists, hips and hicks, blacks and whites, liberals and conservatives all found a place. Apathy was out, involvement was in. To find a random sample of students who could agree on anything was a rare discovery. From all this came three important points: students became aware of their differencesg they confronted each other with themg and they gained a better understanding of why we are different. . ,if y' '- , 1 My U 5 .Q ..... . Big name entertainment, or the lack of it, was one of the usual campus gripes. Students felt that the school should have gotten more for the money. Blood, Sweat and Tears, Johnny Mathis, and Steppenwolf, all in the five-figure salary range, met with as much criticism as approval, Sweet Fever and Belland and Somerville, two of the inexpensive acts, pleased more students. Still, the cries for the big names ring out and the unknowns we had this year will probably be replaced with more expensive crowd displeasers next year.
