jte Yfwrfcl of 1941, This year tbe 'World of play was bigger and better tban ever. Activities climbed to a bigber scale. Fraternity parties, dances, Song Fest, and big-name entertainment flavored tbe year with fun and variety. Tbose. wbo frequented Nat's Nook found atmospbere and frolic at tbeir fingertips. Tbis World of fun would not be complete witbout the pep rallies, ball games and friendly get-togetbers wbicb display the true spirit of tbe students. Play: tbe moments wben a person finds solace in being alone, sees a couple settled in a quiet corner engulfed in tbe wonderful world of love, tbose uninbibited lapses when one becomes carefree and enjoys life for tbe moment ivitb no concern for tbe future, are all ingredients intermingled to complete tbis ever-present way of life on campus.

fu ruin .r lalaorfunify Opportunity lies dormant until some eager student awakens to the vastness of this world. Opportunity appears in each facet of campus life. I t is available to all, but few ever realize or capitalize. This world is for the ambitious student who will set up goals which he intends to achieve, not for the one who discovers the opportunities, but lacks the initiative to go after them. It is the world where stu- dents meet one failure after another and still strive for success. Opportunity to gain classroom knowledge and the necessity of apply- ing this knowledge to everyday life are both present on campus. Opportunity is an ideal, which if seized, will be a light towards a brighter future. Opportunity can be found anywhere, but it must be nurtured and cared for in order to become a thing of value. The University of Southern Mississippi offers opportunity to its students and the success of the school can be measured by their achievements.
