In this year, 1962-63 over fifty years of hoping planning, and growing. our University has 5,800 students. This, our school, has progressed through four distinct stages since 1912- Mississippi Normal College, State Teachers College, Mississippi Southern Col- lege, and now University of Southern Mississippi. Each student who comprises part of this total, record enrollment must charge himself to continue to lift the standards and prestige of this institution which has contributed much to its native state and is adding an increasing inliuence on the nation.
