The original purpose behind fhe founding of Mississippi Soufhern, fo fill Mississippi schools wifh qualified feachers, soon became oufdafed as fhe influx of sfudenfs from ofher sfafes and counfries became greafer. The people of fhe sfafe realized fhis facf and soon fhe sfafe legislafure granfed 580,000 for consfrucfion and enlargemenf purposes. Affer fhis one sfep by fhe sfafe governmenf, Mississippi Soufhern College had ifs roofs firmly embedded in an area of inferesfed, helpful people ready fo furfher fheir sfafe school in any way. As MSC has confinued 'ro grow fhrough fhe years. special endowmenfs have made possible fhe addifions of fhe nafionally famous Dixie Darlings. frafernifies. sororifies, and recreafional facilifies. Such addifions have added fo an already famous insfifufion, malcing a good school even beffer.
