Composed of five elected ofhcers, a representative of each class and of each organization whose aims meet Student Coun- cil approval, the Student Council is the major legislative body of student government at Southern. Here policies of student government are decided, all student activities are supervised. and expenditures of student fees are allocated and supervised. In 1951-52 the Student Council helped organize the MSC orchestra, placed stamp machines in the dormitories, instigated the student loan fund and backed the Name-for-Southern con- test.
