Lowrey, is composed of Five elected oflicers, a representative of each class, and representatives of the organizations whose aims meet Student Council ap- proval. Power is invested in the Council to determine the policies of student government, to recognize and supervise all student activities and their contributions to the student welfare. to reward organizations making the greatest contribution to student government, and to allocate and supervise the expenditures of student fees. The 1950-51 school year saw the Student Council sponsor the following: The placing of coke machines in the dormitories and other buildings and new telephones in the dormitories, the presentation of the Mobile llale Choir, the Sadie Hawkins Dance. the Beauty Ball. and numerous week-end dances in cooperation with the social organizations on the campus.
