LIEUTENANT JAMES P. WOERNER, USN Lieutenant Woerner was commissioned in 1966 upon graduation from the University of Nebraska which he attended as an NROTC Scholarship student. Having received a Fulbright Scholarship, his first year of commissioned service was spent at the University of Antioquia, Medellin, Colombia. In June 1967 LT Woerner reported to USSvGIennon iDD-840i where he served in the Operations Department until February 1969. After 13 weeks specialized training at the Naval Amphibious Intelligence School in Coronado, California LT Woerner reported in June 1969 to Command, U.S. Naval Forces, Vietnam and served as an intelligence officer for both Operation Seafloat and Operation Giant Slingshot . For the latter service he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. LT Woerner arrived at NROTC, University of South Carolina in August 1970 and has served as Junior Instructor and Advisor. LIEUTENANT DONALD W. PARKER, USN Lieutenant Parker, the Sophomore instructor7Advisor reported to the Unit in July of 1970 after completing a tour of duty as Hangar Deck Officer aboard the USS Kitty Hawk; Other previous duty assignments include: VT-10, AEW7ECM Evaluator Training, Airborne Early Warning Barrier Squadron Pacific, Barbers Point, Hawaii, the Naval Reconnais- sance and Technical Support Center, Washington, D. C., and VF-121, Miramar, California. LT Parker holds a 3.8. in Accounting from Lincoln Memorial University, Harrogate, Tennessee, and will complete his Master of Education degree program here at the University of South Carolina in August of 1972. LT Parker and his wife, Sharon, reside with their two children in nearby Woodland Hills subdivision. LIEUTENANT FREDRIC G. ARNOW, USN Lieutenant Arnow received his commission in the Navy from Miami University where he was a regular Midshipman in the NROTC Program. He was sent through flight training at Pensacola, Florida and Brunswick, Georgia. After receiving his wings from NAS Glynco, he attended two advanced schools and spent two months in Operation Feedback prior to reporting to NAS Norfolk, Virginia. Upon completion of the RAG syllabus, he was assigned to VAW-124 which deployed as part of CVW-9 to SEASIA and CVW-8 to the Mediterranean. Both deployments were made aboard USS America iCVA-661. LT Arnow reported to Carolina in January after spending 20 months out of 24 at sea. He is the Engineering Instructor and Freshman advisor and is attending graduate school to pursue an MBA. In May, he will give up his valuable bachelor status. LT. COMMANDER JEFFERY BROWN AND LIEUTENANT KIRBY HUGHES Good luck in your new duty assignment.
