Nolan INCE his arrival at Carolina in 1947, Dr. Nolan has been one of the most popular members of the Department of English. The relationship with his students is his greatest asset. His friendliness and genuine interest in their welfare is unmatched in professorial circles. Dr. Nolan is a member of many organizations, including L05 Piearos, honorary Spanish society at the University of Florida, and Omicron Delta Kappa, men,s honorary fraternity, here at Caro- lina. He is also a member of the board of editors of The Explicator. Dr. Nolan, a native Floridian, was an honor graduate of the University of F lorida, where he received his MA. as a graduate Fellow. He was awarded a Graduate Scholarship and Graduate Junior Fellowship to Princeton University, where he received his Ph.D.
