STUART MARTIN BERGER Alone I strode into the void. Laughing and caring not what the darkness could bring. Running then, I seemed to be lost, but fear had yet to dig her claws into my soul. There is light ahead-run to it! Wait! Darkness had filled my head. The void had engulfed me, mind and body. I then sensed the presence of someone hovering over me. I strained to open my eyes to f'1nd myself quite surrounded by faces. I heard their voices. Lying on the earth I felt sure hands raising me up and helping me to walk out of the void. The healing was slow, very painful and it will be completed... someday. And after, shall I ever run again? S.M.B. 25
