The Little Theatre Club cup awarded for the best play was won by tht- Collegt- of Engineering with the play. A Night at an Inn. The play was wt-ll staged and acted t-yt-n though it was the l'Ingint-t-r's tirst attempt' in tht- tit-ld of llramatics. The McLorg t-up for individual male acting was won jointly by Mr. Jack Mitchell and Mr. Bob. Williamson. Professor Edmunds donated a second cup for individual at-ting, making a cup for ladies as wt-ll as one for men. This cup was won by Miss Fern Moar. Two of the plays prt-st-ntt-tl on College Nights wt-re t-ntt-rt-tl in tlu- llominion Drama Festival held in Saskatoon during March. R.U.R. The traditional Vniyersity Night entertainmt-nt this yt-ar featured Karel Capek's R, lf R. . a sensational drama of the futurt-. The ltramatic Directorate sponsored the production which was shown in Con- yot'-ation Hall for two nights. February 23 and 2-1. Both performances were wt-ll attended and appreciated by the audience. The play was directed by Prof. F. H. Edmunds and tht- leading roles wt-rt- carried by tit-orge Hancock as Harry llomin, and Miss Marie Parr as Helena Hlory. Direc- tors and actors combined to make H If R. tht- major theatrical t-vt-nt on the campus this st-ason. The production was a thought-provoking antl signitit-ant play iillll entirely different from previous dramatic pei-formanct-s at the l'nivt-rsity. lt compelled ont- to think about tht- future in a new light and caused one to wonder whether man has tht- right to usurp tht- function of the ti-rt-ator and make life. Tht- plot of tht- play deals with some possible const-tlut-nct-s ot' such an event. The mt-mbt-rs of tht- cast. most of whom have had previous t-xpt-rit-nce in dramaties. set a high standard of quality for tht- acting. The direction was by Prof. F. H. Edmunds and Peter Gouin.
