I it Eg Q lg EH bfQuN gl Women's Athletic Council HE main function of the NVomen's Athletic Couneil is the eo-ordination of all sports in the l'niversity in which ladies participate. This year, under the leadership ot Dorothy Rutherford, the W.A.C. has become more iinlependent of the men than ever ht-tore, and has handled its own affairs in a very satisfactory manner. The managers of the Various sports have taken a keen interest in their work and have hrought out valuable material in the Freshiesu of whom we will hear more in the next two or three years, The outstanding features of this season 's aetivities were the splendid showings that we have maile in all at-tivities in whit-h we partieipatedg Varsity this year came ser-ontl in the Intercollegiate track meet at Winnipegg the girls' swimming team were deeitlecl winners over the Alberta girls at the meet held in Ecl- monton recently, the girls basketball team reached the finals of the City League and went tlown to defeat only after three hard fought gamesg the hoekey team has gone through the year without losing a game, and the tennis team that met lfltlmonton Varsity in the fall, although they were not winners. put up a splelnlid game against their more experieneetl opponents. Through the efforts of the Uouneil this year, the women have heen granted a space in the Sheat ' for their own Athletic- Activity write-ups. They have also appointed a ladies' sport editor to the Slit-af. This will nn-an that from now on women will get the same puhlieity in sport as the men have had.
