President In his capacity as Rector for the past six years, Father Whelan has guided the destiny of the University through one of the most important and active periods in its history. During his term of office, the college moved from Hayes Street to its new buildings on Ignatian Heights; St. Ignatius College became the University of San Francisco; and the great Diamond Jubilee celebration took place.
