lf . Z L I i Eagw - s gi Ll 'V In its twenty-five years on the hill, the University of San Diego High School has experienced much growth and many changes. As the number of students has grown, so has the variety of courses, sports and extracurricular activities offered. While maintaining the caring, Christian atmosphere on which it bases it's reputation, Uni has added Honors and Advanced Placement courses to guarantee a superior education. The increased social awareness of the '60's and the individualism of the '70's have influenced both students and teachers. Graduating classes still feel, however, the same pride in becoming responsible Christian adults as did the small group of sixty-five young men who came to the school in 1957. V F .. jg ' fi 1 f. . These words hold the key to University's secret of success over the past twenty-five years and also contain the seeds of hope for the future. Mingled with this spirit and determination to continue growth is a sense of con- tinuity and constancy. A Twenty percent of the current faculty has been associated with University for over ten years. Some faculty members have been a part of Uni since the beginning. Others have left University as graduates to return as part of the teaching staff. Others have come as teachers and now bring their children to Uni as students. Fr. Leo Lanphier, one of University High's founders and presently the school .chaplain as well as a member of the faculty, describes this enduring appeal as the warm, family-like spirit that prevails throughout the campus.
