Frosh listened attentively After getting through Registration lines, Freshmen hardly noticed the crowd during the first convo of the year. as they danced to Van Armitage's music. tage were introduced to the yearlingsbyzealous Sophomore orientors. Purple and white beanies blossomed on campus. Smiles to all under- classmen were manditory, and campus signs shone by dint of ample elbow grease furnished by slightly less than eager Pilot Babes. At the end of the Week, the Freshman were formally introduced to college life at the traditional Hello Dance Where music provided by Van Armitage soothed tattered frosh nerves. Things began to look up. lt says here we gotta wear Frosh hats. lf car A is traveling west at 25 m.p.h., and car B is traveling east at 37 m.p.h. . . . Placement exams test mathematics, grammer and endurance. 7

Apprenhensive Freshman were put at ease by their elder University brethern during Wel- come Week. As a starter, the newcomers were gathered together in Education Hall for an introduction to the University. College life Was depicted for them by such authorities as Father Delauny, dean of men, Father jones, prefect of religion, Bob Boehmer, placement director, and Wayne Durrell, assistant to the dean of studies. Welcome greetings were mixed with pointers on academic, religious and social activities.
