Lectures were also held in rooms of the American Philosophical Society in Independance Square. In l802fit moved to ninth and Chestnut Streets, the site of the present post olifice. Here it shared with the College the lbuilding which had been erected by the government as an executive mansion. A Upon demolition of this building in 1829, it received a building of its own on the same site which it occupied until 1874, when the University moved to its present location in WVest Philadelphia.
