CK VVLE GEME A yearbook. That's what this is. lt has taken a year to make and it covers a years time. A year may seem like a longtime but it's not, especially when you have hundreds of pictures to take, thousands of words to write about those pictures, put them on pages, deadlines to face and you don't really know how to go about it. What happens? You try your best. When complications arise, you keep trying. Then one day the book is complete and ready for others. That's what we did. We knew we wanted a book and that was about it. It was work to figure out which end was up when but it was fun. Many laughs arose from our work parties and not so many tears. It is now that I would like to thank the people who helped make this whole thing possible with their distinct contributions. I would like to thank the sponsors, advertisers and purchasers of the book who made us financially independ- ent and able to print this book. l would like to thank Bob Paffrath, American Yearbook Representative, for his insight and putting up with our blunders. I would like to thank Fifth Avenue Portraits who so patiently allowed for the last stragglers to get their pic- tures taken and kept up their fine quality. I would like to thank Bud Dockery for letting us use the Student Activities Building. I-Iis humor and not get- ting too upset with our long phone calls and late hours were appreciated and kept us going. I would like to thank Martha I-Iirsh and the Nursing School office for their cooperation in typing lists and memo's at a moments notice. I would like to thank Mary Ann Lockwood in Public Relations for her ability to help us with details and picking up many fine points. And yes, I would like to thank Miss Boyle and the administration who are ultimately responsible for the book under contract. Although our communication was strained at times, our differences were ironed out with compromise. I would like to thank our advisors Barbara Rynerson, Marie Duncan, and Letha Lierman for their continous efforts to establish a workable liason with the students, faculty and administration and so often pointing out areas unknown or even conceivable to my awareness. ' I would like to thank Tom Bessler and his Photography department for their effort, support and willingness to help us overcome a major problem of having pictures retaken. Not enough appreciation and thanks can be expressed to Tom for his flexibility in cooperating with our problem and so often going out of his way. Thank you staff. I can not believe the book is almost complete. You worked hard, were dependable and showed initiative and creativity. The sacrifices you made were incredible, especially on Friday nights and weekends! You kept with the ship when it really rocked, was near gone and were able to help bring it to shore to where it is now landing. You made the book, each with your own grand quality. I think we all grew during this process and can be proud at this time to present TI-IE LAMP 1970. XXX This book is now ready for you. It has meaning to us, we hope it does for you, too.
