Beta Theta Pi ’7 ■ .. fc .y ffi V • The Year of the Dragon was the key phrase at 800 Chautauqua for 1972-73. With a member overall grade point average of 3.014 for the past year, the 8etas. aided by The Dragon , retained the scholarship trophy. With fall and intramural sports in full Swing. he Betas acquired an early lead in the newly-initiated All-College standings. They ran and passed their way to first place victories in B and C Football and Beta B team captured the All Fraternity Football Championship. The social calendar, brighter than ever this ear. started with a Victory Party. Next they eminisccd with the Beta 50‘s Party, then rolled into Dallas in October for a big Texas weekend. After that came the party that only Betas know how to throw, the oldest party on on campus, the Beta Barn Dance. But Betas did more than just have a good time. Beta Theta Pi took an active part in community services. They helped sponsor the Special Olympics, served on Big Brother programs and aided with special tutoring services for ore-college students. Still, parties, rallies and various functions can never mirror all that is real for Betas. It is brotherhood which makes the effort worthwhile.
