Believing in the prophecy of Sequoyah and the legend of the early Indians, in spirit if not in words, they aspired with their deathless visions to build on the flat prairie, where buffalo grazed and wallowed, wandering up from the shifting sands of the Canadian bottoms, a great center of culture. The faith of these visionaries in education has been justified. The familiar figures of two of these pioneers in educa- tion are seen daily on the campus. Respected for their achievements and ability they are the rightful heirs of their hearty predecessors, and to them, Dean Roy Git- tinger and Doctor Edward Everett Dale, is dedicated this volume, the 192+ SOONER.
