The Foundation staff numbers 300, including more than 30 senior staff men and women holding an M.D. or Ph.D. The Foundation has a total budget for the current fiscal year of S2,ll5,000. Of this sum, about one-half will be provided by the generous donations of the Oklahoma people. Robert Norclquist, electron microscopist, concentrates on virus study. Twenty Year f Progress ln a short twenty year span, the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation has progressed from a dream shared by a handful of Oklahoma professional and businessmen to an energetic, imagin- ative organization staffed by dedicated men and women earnest- ly seeking new knowledge in medicine for the relief of suffering. Supported by the time, talent and treasure of the citizens of Oklahoma and a full share of research grants earned in competi- tion with other centers, the Foundation program includes studies in cancer, heart disease, an area defined as neuro-sciences, and biochemistry. October 3, 1947 Russell Borgman then chairman of the State Board of Affairs, is at the microphone in this photo, taken 120 years ago.
