Center Stimulate Youth Sc Research 'Qi icr' 5 - ff' CAREERS DAY 1968: One of the student groups touring the basic sci- ence sections is shown research equipment used by the Physiology De- partment. The Center conducts 3 SCIENCE CA- REERS DAYS annually to perpetuate a con- tinual interest in science. Over 500 high school students take this full-day tour through the Center and I-Iospitals, learning of the current research and gains in medicine, and of the func- tions of each para-medical branch. The goal of the AMERICAN FEDERA- TION for CLINICAL RESEARCH is to in- sure that young medical personnell will always have a forum in which to present their work. Any paper dealing with clinical medicine may be given at one of the semi-annual meetings , the best are then chosen for national recogni- tion. Steve Campbell fmsivj - 8 week tour through Bolivia sponsored by his church in Tulsa. Sam Lamont, Qay Danielson, Scott Samara Sc Stan Shields fall imsiuj - 8 weeks in Hawaii as an elective for the Department of Surgery. Linda Johnsonfmsivj administers injections to Nigerian patients. Nigerian hospitals are capable of the most sophisticated procedures. gg
