ff.-'-TL ::: ::: 9 O 5 T is customary to dedicate the SOONER NTEDIC to some outstand- ing faculty member, or alumnus who for some reason deserves to be honored in such a manner. However, today, the spirit of the school has changed. We no longer state and restate what is present on the campus, and remind ourselves that although we may not be the largest, we are one of the best. No, today, the School of Medicine looks forward to a glowing future of increased service to mankind, of extended hospital and preclinical facilities, of an enlarged curriculum, of a larger student body. Ground has already been broken for extension of the University Hospital. The Alumni Association is lending every effort to expand both hospital and basic science departments to compare favorably, and perhaps surpass other institutions in the nation, Yes, the dreams of the builders of the school are apparently materializing. To dedicate this SOONER MEDIC to any one person seems impossible-the future is unrolling-it is the spirit of the school, faculty, and student body alike to participate. U Today, as we enter upon the threshold of tomorrow, with the vision of dreams being fulfilled, we dedicate the SOONER MEDIC to the ideal envisaged by the founders of the institution--to the dreams dreamed by men who have strived for higher and nobler attainments-and have guided the School through a perilous infancy to its present status. We dedicate to the vision and fortitude of those whose task it is to carry out those dreams-and to dream greater dreams for the future. New horizons stand re- vealed-and we dedicate the SOONER MEDIC to those new horizons-in short, to the future. r
