Theodore M Hes burgh, CSC and the other reviewing officers. On 21 April the Battalion joi- ned the other two ROTC Units at the University in the annual Presidential Review. Parades, such as this, throughout history have been held to honor troops entering combat, to celebrate great victories, to recognize the achievement of comrades-in- arms, and to honor those fallen in battle. This year Reverand Theodore M. Hesburgh, CSC was the re- viewing officer. In his remarks Rev. Hesburgh congratulated the cadets and midshipmen on having the courage to stand up for God, country and Notre Dame. He also recalled past Notre Dame graduates who had lost their lives in previous wars. Eventhough the weather was cold and dismal the spirit of the occasion was not lost by the mid- shipmen and they were all glad to be a part of the highly tradi- tional parade.

On 5 October 1985, the Battal- ion of Midshipmen enjoyed the second annual NavyfMarine Corps Ball. The event was held in the South Dining Hall as the over 130 couples danced the night away to the music of the Naval Band Voyage When the midshipmen and their dates were not burning holes in the floor, they enjoyed the fine hospitality of the Uni- versity Food Service and their selection of food and drink. -5 .
