Pre-Game Presentation Junior Qass President Matt Smith iind Vice President Karen Lysaght present the Ameri- Cim Flag to be raised before the start of the City police and firefighters killed in the aftermath of the attacks. In a show of solidarity, fans held flags and wore blue - not Notre Dame blue, but American blue. Father Malloy opened with a prayer, and the Notre Dame marching band joined forces with the band of Michigan State University in an incredible show of patriotism. The events of the morning of September 1 1 were tragic, and ter- rorists tried to tear America apart; but they took our complacency for a lack of resolve.
